hose clamps are a very important component within the group of fastening equipment products. No industrial application can do without hose clamps. They are designed to withstand high mechanical as well as chemical loads and not only for the automotive industry. hose clamps play a vital role in maintenance work as well as in common activities.
GUFERO hose clamps are used for fixing all types of hoses with various demands on the clamp resistance to corrosion. The material of which the hose clamps are made is indicated by the letter W followed by a number.
The selection of a specific hose clamp depends on its application and the conditions in which it has to operate. Every hose clamp is determined by the width of the metal strip from which it is manufactured. The most important detail about a hose clamp is its minimum and maximum diameter. If the hose clamp is to fulfil its function, it is necessary that the external diameter of the hose is approximately in the middle between the minimum and maximum diameters of the hose clamp, or alternatively closer to the maximum diameter of the hose clamp. This is the only way to guarantee that the hose clamp will be able to withstand sufficient tightening and seal the hose connection.
MINI hose clamps are easy but firm clamps with smooth strips on both sides. On the upper side the hose clamps are equipped with a screw and a metric thread. As the metric screw on the hose clamp has a smaller pitch compared to that of the screw on the for example AMERIC hose clamp, it is possible to tighten the hose clamps onto the hose with greater precision. In contrast, MINI hose clamps have a smaller difference between the minimum diameter of the hose clamp and the maximum diameter of the hose clamp. This type of hose clamp is therefore used in more complicated assemblies where durability of the tightened hose clamp and the service life of the hose clamp are accentuated. The nut of the screw on the hose clamp is firmly pressed in, which eliminates the possibility of it falling out during the unscrewing of the hose clamp. The strip of the MINI hose clamp is 9 mm wide. MINI hose clamps are available in two versions. The W1 version hose clamp is made of zinc plated steel, whereas the W4 is made of stainless chromium steel. MINI hose clamps are used especially for hoses with small dimensions - such as for hoses for filling fuels. Hose clamps are tightened or loosened using a flat tip screwdriver or a hexagonal key.
EURO hose clamps are equipped with a worm thread and are a very frequently used type of hose clamp. EURO hose clamps withstand high loads and provides the certainty of a tightly sealed connection. This type of hose clamp is made of a pressed strip with smooth edges which prevent wear of the hose by the hose clamp. EURO hose clamps are available in two widths, specifically 9 and 12 mm. These hose clamps are manufactured in three versions. The W1 version is made of zinc plated steel, the W2 version of stainless chromium steel and the W4 version which is made of stainless chromium-nickel steel. The screw which is precisely embedded in the welded block ensures greater strength of the hose clamp. EURO hose clamps are used for common applications as well as in more demanding assemblies. Using a hexagonal key or a flat tip screwdriver allows for easy installation of the hose clamp. In addition, these hose clamps may also be tightened using a cross-head screwdriver.
AMERIC hose clamps are very similar to EURO hose clamps. Unlike EURO hose clamps they have bores for the worm screw along the entire strip. The moulded strip of this hose clamp is lined with smooth edges which prevent any damage being caused to the hose due to sharp edges of the hose clamp. The screw lock found on these hose clamps is similar to that on EURO hose clamps. These hose clamps are available with strip widths 8, 9 and 12 mm. The selection of the correct width of the strip may have a decisive impact on the strength of the connection created with the hose clamp. AMERIC hose clamps are delivered in two versions. The W1 version is made of zinc plated steel and the W4 version of stainless chromium-nickel steel. A hexagonal key is used to tighten or loosen the hose clamp. Alternatively, a flat tip screw driver can be used to tighten the hose clamp.
SGB hose clamps are among those hose clamps that clamp the most firmly. The screws in these hose clamps are equipped with joint bolts and braces between the screw and the upper side of the hose clamp strip. Due to the general strength of the hose clamp, this type of hose clamp is used in heavy machinery, the agricultural sector and also for heavy goods vehicles. As is the case for MINI hose clamps, this type of hose clamp is equipped with a metric thread which provides precision tightening of the hose clamp. The strips of this hose clamp are smooth and their lined edges prevent any damage being caused to the hose by the hose clamp. The screw of the SGB hose clamp is equipped with a hexagonal head which requires a hexagonal key for tightening. SGB hose clamps are also suitable for connections subject to high loads which can, if required, be surprisingly easily loosened.
MOTEX tape is another option for sealing connections between hoses. A correct seal using MOTEX tape begins with the selection of the correct width of tape. MOTEX tapes are available in three widths - 5, 9 and 12 mm. If the chosen width of the MOTEX tape is too narrow, the connection may become insufficiently resistant and the tape may burst. MOTEX tapes are manufactured from zinc plated steel. MOTEX tapes can be used on hoses of any diameters as the correct length of the tape can be set using parts from the entire package. MOTEX tape is not a stand-alone solution. A connection using MOTEX tape must be combined with a MOTEX clamp to properly tighten the hose connection. The resulting MOTEX connection is sufficiently strong but is not designed to be frequently disassembled. MOTEX tape can bend and its service life may be shortened. You can order MOTEX tape and MOTEX clamps in our order system as a MOTEX set. With the MOTEX set you will have all you need for the work at hand.
SATEX tape is similar to MOTEX tape. Unlike MOTEX tape, SATEX tape is equipped with bores with which to tighten the hose using a SATEX lock. SATEX tape is manufactured from zinc plated steel which guarantees a long service life regardless of weather conditions. SATEX tape is supplied in standard packages containing 3 m of tape. The width of the tape is 9 mm. You can use SATEX tape on a hose of any diameter and the connection will be sufficiently firm. It is not advisable to use SATEX tapes in cases where it is necessary to loosen the clamps on a regular basis.
The hose clamp can be used for a number of different types of connections:
