Hoses are a specialised item needed in everyday life. They are used in many fields of activity for the transport or distribution of liquids and gases over short distances. Hoses and tubes are widely used in various machines and sets of machines. Hoses are usually made of rubber or plastic material that is flexible, elastic and to a certain extent resistant to both non-destructive mechanical stress and internal overpressure or even negative pressure of the media being transported.
To be able to say that a hose is of high quality we must test several properties of the hose. High quality hoses should be made of advanced materials. Every hose comprises several layers of different materials to secure the overall properties of the hose. The hose should stable in shape, it should not get twisted and it should not fracture at all. The hose should be sufficiently flexible. Hoses should be able to maintain their properties even if operated under the most demanding conditions.
Rubber hoses are a commonly used type of hose. They are manufactured from high quality rubber which provides good flexibility to the hoses. Rubber hoses are widely used in various industries. Rubber hoses are suitable for brake systems and they are also used for the distribution of hot water or steam. Some rubber hoses can be used for the supply of petrol or oil.
Rubber hoses for brake systems are hoses manufactured from a combination of the materials EPDM and SBR. The internal diameter of brake hoses is 13 mm and the external diameter 24 mm.
Rubber hoses for hot water are designed for the supply of hot water. These hoses are manufactured from EPDM material and sometimes in combination with SBR material. The hoses are intended for operating pressures of 20 or 6 bar. Hoses for hot water are available with internal diameters of 10 - 25 mm.
The rubber hoses we supply for steam are manufactured from EPDM material. We supply rubber hoses for steam with internal diameters of 5 - 25 mm.
These rubber hoses have excellent resistance to petrol, oil and other chemical substances of organic origin which make them ideal hoses for the transport of fuels. Rubber hoses for petrol are designed for an operating pressure of 20 bar, however they are able to withstand 60 bar for a short time. Rubber hoses for petrol are manufactured from NBR material (nitrile butadiene rubber). We supply hoses for petrol in a wide range of dimensions. The hoses with the smallest bores have an internal diameter of 3.2 mm. The maximum diameter is 25 mm. The operating temperature of rubber hoses for petrol ranges from -25 to +70 °C. The temperature range covers the most common operating conditions with a large margin.
Gas hoses are designed for the supply of gases. For this purpose it is necessary to adhere to strict production standards applicable to the manufacture of gas hoses. If a gas hose is interrupted at any place and gas leaks away, there is a risk that the gas collects around the hose which may result in an explosion. The manufacture of gas hoses is subject to the ISO 3821 standard.
The hoses are designed for the supply of acetylene in gaseous state. GUFERO acetylene hoses are manufactured from layers of EPDM and NR materials. Hoses for acetylene are designed for an operating pressure of 20 bar. However, they should withstand pressures of up to 60 bar for a short time. Hoses for acetylene are designed for operating temperatures within the range from -25 to +80 °C. The hoses for acetylene are available with internal diameters of 4 - 10 mm.
Hoses for oxygen have similar properties to the hoses for acetylene. Hoses for oxygen can also withstand pressures of up to 60 bar and withstand temperatures of up to +80 °C. The hoses for oxygen are supplied with diameters 4 - 10 mm.
Gas hoses for propane are designed for the supply of flammable gases (LPG). The hoses for propane are designed for an operating pressure of 20 bar and their manufacture is subject to the ISO 3821 standard. Hoses for propane-butane are supplied in the sizes 4 - 10 mm.
The hoses manufactured from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) have different properties to rubber hoses. In particular, they are able to withstand lower pressures and they have a different range of operating temperatures. PVC hoses can be manufactured in transparent versions which allow the supply of liquids to be visually checked. It is therefore also possible to monitor whether the conveyed liquid contains air or not. The disadvantage of PVC hoses is they are difficult to recycle. The advantage is that PVC hoses have a better resistance to mechanical damage.
Everybody knows them. Hoses for watering beds and flowers, hoses for filling swimming pools, hoses for washing the car, hoses for lawn sprinkler systems and many other applications. GUFERO hoses for garden applications are designed for an operating pressure of 10 bar and are available in a wide range of diameters from 6 to 50 mm.
PVC hoses for petrol are an alternative to rubber hoses for petrol. Their indisputable advantage is their transparent material. The transparent PVC hoses supply petrol to motorcycles and cars. When using transparent PVC hoses it is possible to check the correct supply of petrol from the tank to the mixing chamber as well as revealing possible air suction. When using transparent hoses for petrol it is possible to detect any visible contamination in the petrol that is being supplied from the tank. In this way it is possible to prevent failures that might result from such contamination.
