E-rings are used for belt pulleys and stubs with small diameters. Their manufacture is dictated by the DIN 6799 standard. Unlike Seeger circlip rings for shafts and Seeger circlip rings for bores, no Seeger pliers are required for the application of the E-ring type retaining ring. The E-ring is open on one side. This V-shape opening allows considerably easier installation of the E-ring. The retaining ring is applied onto the edge of the groove and by pressing the opposite side of the E-ring, the retaining ring clicks into the right position.
