Circlips for bores are designed to secure components against movement in cylindrical cavities of machine components. Circlips of this type are manufactured pursuant to the DIN 472. The dimension of the circlip cannot be determined precisely from the size of the ring. As before, the approximate dimensions of the Seeger circlip can be determined by measuring the distance between the internal edge of the circlip and its opposite external edge. The circlip is applied into the bore using Seeger pliers. The circlip must be compressed using Seeger pliers to rove the retaining ring through the bore. After the Seeger retaining ring is placed in the groove, it extends and secures its position against the bore.
